2nd Annual Access Program Summer Intensive

From June 7-18th, our Access Program dove deep into learning during our 2nd Annual Summer Intensive. Each morning was split into 2 modules of 2 hours each. Beforehand, our students filled out surveys, choosing subjects that were most interesting to them. Each student was then assigned their schedule, allowing them to each have their favorite 16 topics, plus a few bonus topics.
We were very pleased to have many guest teachers speak on subjects in which they have expertise, as well as our regular teachers broaching some new topics. Classes offered included: American Cooking, Drama I and II, Creative Writing, American Football, Baseball, Break-dancing, All About Brazil, All About Canada, All About Mexico, Spanish 101, Painting Pottery, Upcycling Crafts, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, Games, Reading Together, History of American Music, English in the Tunisian University System, Line Dancing, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Louis, and Phonemics.
Both the students and the teachers liked the change in format, and the variety of classes. There will be quite a few student reporter blog posts covering the Intensive to follow...
